Gulf Cup 18 ...
A story with a very interesting and happy start but with a sad ending :(
sorry to all Oman football team fans, including myself, if i just happen to bring up the pain again.. but i just feel that i have to write about this in ma blog and chatter about it a bit just as i did at home, outside home, at family homes, with neighbors, with friends, with colleagues, aaaaaaaah while driving , or watching TV ,, or just t my own self ,, aaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhh what a burn a feel in ma heart wallaheee!
to those who don't know what the hac am talking about, then here comes a short explanation:
Gulf Cup 18 (football competition) took place this year where all Arab gulf countries took place including, OMAN, Saudi, Bahrain, Qatar, kuwait, Iraq, Yemen, and the great UAE!!!
in short Oman won all its 4 matches in the first round! including the first one which was the opening match for this competition and was against UAE , the hosting country! Imagine! but OMAN won ,,
Final Match was between Oman and UAE again! and yess u guessed it right ,, or ? anywayz we lost :( ,,
Well i am not really sad coz we lost! coz HONESTLY i believe, just as a lot a lot a lot of Omani Fans do, we actually won the game but the trophy went to UAE! simply coz they bought it! yeppp they bought it! donno really why participated if this was the way they wanted to win with!! i mean to simply buy a trophy! u know what i mean naa?
Well i wont go into the details but the referee was 100% sold out to UAE! he completely ignored the 100% valid penalty which Oman team should have gottn, he also kept ignoring the amount of kicking, breaking, and injuring which our team went through by UAE team.. but am not sad about that coz at the end our player Khalifa broke the leg of one of them (very well done mann) ,, am not a bad person ,, but i am not also that nice to say: 'Ohio if thy do wrong then u dont have to do the same' ,,i would say: 'GET THEM DOWN',, at that point i really wanted them to do bad as well ,,so that those UAE get a lesson in life and in real football!
Oh well,, its all done now,, but still the pain of loosing the cup in such a way is still there..
But what makes me feel :))) is the fact that although we won the 2nd place, we actually celebrated our team the same day they arrived to the land of Oman,, i.e. 2nd day of final match,, where UAE team just copy and pasted our celebration on 3rd day after the match day! exactly same idea they took with only one difference,
Our team was honored from all our hearts with all the loveee and respect and happiness even though they won 2nd place, and as Mohd. 3abduh said in a TV interview: 'This is the first country which i see who celebrates a 2nd place with so much love and care for its team! What a spirit' :)))))))))))))) ,,am really proud of this :D
On the other hand UAE team ,,well forget about UAE :P
